About
Compliance Fiction is my blog about the political economy of new media, the internet and entertainment. It was originally started as an experiment for a Masters paper on New Media at the University of Auckland.
Now it’s mostly just me talking shit about the media in New Zealand and overseas.
The name Compliance Fiction is a cynical play on words derived from the relationship between science fiction fans and the culture industry. The name of this blog was inspired by and article in Fast Capitalism by Sam Caslin of the University of Manchester. Her article can be found here.
Please enjoy this blog and feel free to contribute.
